WizBang has an excellent piece on the successes and failures of the Bush Doctrine, particularly as it applies to Iraq. Read Part I and Part II (Part III coming tomorrow). Note that the author is anonymous, though his points are valid and draw from public knowledge.

You may also wish to read the speech President Bush gave in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 7, 2002, which lays out all of the justifications and motivations for bringing about regime change in Iraq, forcibly, if necessary; contrary to what many on the left have claimed, it was never all about WMD. WMD were certainly important, but not the only concern, by any means.
