Anti-Virus Software and Firewalls

It should be illegal to connect a computer to the Internet without a good A/V program and a firewall. Both programs must be pro-active (as opposed to the kind that tell you, “Oh, by the way, you’re now screwed.”). Exceptions could be made for nodes of parallel systems that do not connect directly (i.e., supercomputers). No home user should be exempt.

Why? Because I value my time and life is too short to spend it cleaning people’s computers. So there.
