I guess I will finally start blogging the 2008 election cycle. I’ve resisted until now, because the election cycle has already been so prolonged (and, to be honest, mostly irrelevant). I know the vast majority of my readers are political wonks, so hopefully they won’t mind if I give in to the temptation.

So, to start things off, some interesting Iowa predictions. My only objection is the comment – repeated ad nauseum in the press in the last few days – that anything but a win could spell the end for Romney. I just don’t see it. If Huckabee goes 1st/3rd in Iowa and New Hampshire, as seems likely, and McCain goes 3rd/1st, with Romney in second both times, I don’t see how that spells the end for him. After all, he’s already won Wyoming.
