Favorite Spam of the Day

I love this person, because he or she is incompetent in the most amusing way. One would hope that such blazing incompetence renders such people inept in their efforts to harm others, though for every con there is probably a gullible enough mark out there…

If you’re going to try to commit fraud, doing so as a fake IRS site is not the smartest thing ever. If you still want to try that, at least get local conventions regarding numbers right.

P.S. The actual URL linked to happened to be a DynDNS address; in other words, the guy was running the site on his own computer somewhere, probably a laptop or desktop he owns, and has, no doubt already been shut down (the server is offline as I type this) and is quite possibly on his way to an indictment. Idiot.

I got this e-mail too. The funny thing is I work for H and R block I would KNOW if I had any extra money coming for ANY reason and I looked at this and just laughed. However I was concerned for others because the stimulus plan does seem like extra tax money and a lot of people don’t know how it works. I am glad he is already shut down. The stimulus is a anticipated rebate on your 2008 taxes and is available to those who file a tax return this year there is nothing further needed just file your return you differently do NOT have to send your information to any agency that sends you an e-mail and you do NOT have to release any information over the phone. I hope this doesn’t cause more problems than it’s supposed to solve. Peace…
