Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid
Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid
Honestly, I don't remember too much about this one. I read it many, many years ago. The basic focus was the author's examination of human creativity, as exhibited by the math of Gödel, the art of Escher, and the music of Bach, and the implications thereof for the understanding of computers and artificial intelligence. It's a mathematically oriented book, but not terribly demanding; great for the thinking reader.

Quote of the Picosecond:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
