PCB '99 is the Panama City Beach, FL, 1999 US Summer Project of Campus Crusade for Christ. The purposes of the project were to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the PCB community and to build and train students. The project ran from May 24 to August 4, 1999, and featured 73 college students from around the world. Students came from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Bolivia, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Russia, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and, of course, Texas. The project had many parts. Students worked full-time at places as diverse as McDonalds, Publix, the Bay Point Golf Courses, Pineapple Willy's Restaurant, Shellport, Holiday Inn, and Krispy Kreme doughnuts. The evenings were filled with training/teaching meetings, Bible studies, worship services, and leadership meetings. Saturdays featured our outreaches and a project social. On Sundays, we all went to Covenant Presbyterian Church. Our main outreach tool was the booklet, the Four Spiritual Laws, which has four points:
This is the core of what Christians believe, known as the Gospel, or "good news." To read more, click here. We also used fun activities, such as tug-of-war, giant sandcastle contests, a free BBQ and concert, and a city-wide scavenger hunt to reach out to the community. The PCB '99 project was a wonderful time of fellowship and growing - God did wonderful things in, around, and through the project participants. Many people heard the Gospel, many came to believe in Jesus Christ, and everyone on project came away refreshed an invigorated. This page is designed to keep the project participants in touch with each other and bring back project memories. Any questions should be directed to the webmaster.
