Reunion 2004 - September 3-6, 2004, in Panama City BeachHey guys! Can you believe it has been 5 years? We're going to have another reunion, this time in [drumroll]... Panama City Beach! We wanted to get the Dip, but it's not the Dip, anymore. Bummer. So, we will be at the Emerald Point Resort, closer to the Air Force Base. Bookmark this page - all updates will be posted here and on the e-mail list The reunion will be Labor Day Weekend (September 3-6, 2004) - that's 4 days, 3 nights. If you can't be there the whole time, that's fine; come anyway! The cost (housing only) will be about $55-60 for singles and around $120 for couples - the exact cost will be determined once we know who's coming, and we'll also work out food (snacks). Very important: We need to know if you're coming! Please update your contact info and tell us if you're coming at the PCB '99 directory page. The sooner you do this, the better we can make the reunion! Also, we're going to help everyone with rides (carpooling from out of town or rides from the airport). So, we need to know how to reach you! Thanks.
UPDATE #1 - 8/22/2004I think I've gotten answers from everyone. If you have already replied and can't come, please disregard this. Here's the list of people I have coming:
If you're coming and don't see your name, I need you to call me, ASAP. We still have room for up to 6 last-second people! I'll send info on cost to everyone who is or may be coming, tomorrow; I don't have the numbers in front of me, right now.
UPDATE #2 - 8/24/2004Here's the scoop. We have 7 people definitely coming and one maybe, with 3 gals and 4-5 guys. This pushes us to 2 condos (unless we want to get REALLY comfy in one). The cost for housing is $672.35 = $84 per person if everyone makes it ($96 if we end up with 7). We also could use some snack food for the weekend, which I estimate at about $6 per person, to get us plenty of good stuff to drink and munch on. So, the total is $90 per person. If this is a problem, please let me know and we'll work something out. Otherwise, the best thing is to write me a check (payable to "Edward Cottrell") when you get this and mail it to: Ed Cottrell Please let me know when you've done that. This will make check-in much, much easier! Thanks.
UPDATE #3 - 8/31/2004As some of you may have noticed, there is a major (category 4) hurricane bearing down on the Florida coast. Hurricane Frances is expected to hit the eastern FL coast sometime midday on Saturday. Here's the good news: the closest it should get to PCB is near Jacksonville, 150 miles away! Leslie and I have been watching the weather reports, and Leslie has talked to Rodman (remember him?), who is in PCB, and the local story there is that they don't expect anything bad. The worst we should see is some rain on Saturday night and Sunday morning. Flights in and out of PCB on Friday and Monday should not be affected. If you have a connecting flight in Atlanta, you MAY encounter a delay there on Monday, but there's no telling until we get that far. So, here's the plan: we are still going to Panama City Beach. Because the hurricane's path is north and east of us, we should have plenty of warning on Friday if it looks like it is going to come near us. If it looks like we're going to get hit, we will play it safe, hop in the cars, and move to a safe location before it arrives; in the worst case, my parents are up in Atlanta, but crashing at their house is free. :) If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call me (404-328-8503). This is going to be a great weekend!
