Thank You, DMV!

I got a ticket for having an expired vehicle registration, last week. At first, I was mad at the City of Chicago for getting it wrong – the bill I received from the State of North Carolina clearly shows that my registration expires on September 15, 2008. Then I checked with the North Carolina DMV. The bill definitely shows that the expiration date on my registration is 9/15/08, yes, but my registration expired on 8/31/07. Thank you for your incompetence, North Carolina DMV. You owe me $50.00.
