The Village

I just saw the movie “The Village.” While writer/producer/director M. Night Shyamalan and I may not agree entirely on the current state of America and American society, I found it to be probably the most intellectually stimulating movie I’ve seen in at least a couple of years. It’s not for everybody, as some will only see it as a scary (or not so scary) movie, but it poses some very interesting and relevant questions. Frankly, it appears to have been too steadily paced, intellectual, and thought-oriented (as opposed to action-packed) for many critics (and many movie-goers, judging by the conversations I overheard as I was leaving). I say: Shyamalan’s best, yet.
