I’m learning to program in Java. Decided I ought to, because my current pet project will eventually require a swift port to a clustered Linux environment, if I can really make it work. That, and it would make app maintenance easier for the apps I’m writing at Crusade.
Other than that, not much is new. I’m a geek (apparently), and an underpaid one. Situation normal.
I just re-optimized the Topsail Consulting website. It’s not finished, of course – that’ll never happen – but it should be much better off.
Meanwhile, Leslie and I are going to work on setting up a PCB ’99 reunion in PCB, next year. Should be a blast.
Our mower finally came back from the shop, so, after 3 hours, two cuts at two blade heights, and getting stuck in a muddy spot about 10 times, the yard almost looks decent…
That’s about all I know. I should get some sleep.
Topsail is roaring right along, this month – we have a number of new web design and search engine optimization prospects, and the business itself is on solid footing, for a while, even without new cash flow! God is good. We turned down an enormous, but morally questionable, contract about three weeks ago; I can’t help but think the latest blessings are due to God’s hand on this business.
Annie (my sister, age 22) is going to the ER, tonight, due to ongoing inflamation (and maybe a new infection) from a poorly performed root canal, months ago. Turns out, she never even needed a root canal, but this jerk of doctor did one, anyway. She’ll see him in court…
Meanwhile, I need some sleep – Campus Crusade’s Worldwide Day of Prayer is tomorrow, so I have to report in earlier than usual.
So, the lesson of the night is that I need to bowl more often, if I wish to be good. I bowled three games tonight. Suffice it to say that all were below my average, which is around 143; the last game I bowled, tonight, was a 142. Darn.
Meanwhile, I’m making progress, but by no means finished with the AgapeFamily.com website for Campus Crusade. I also have client work to do and a never-ending list of internal tasks for Topsail. Sigh… I would like a break.
I take it nobody reads this, based on the low (zero) response level from my inquiry last week. Oh, well. It amuses me, so it’s worth it. I’m going to bed.
I’ve been so busy, I’ve had no time to update this, the past few days. I’ve got major web design projects going on, both at Crusade and at Topsail, and I’m just really looking to keep up.
Thought of the day: freedom is a beautiful thing.
Yes, that’s right: “April Fish.” France doesn’t have an April Fool’s day; they have April Fish. People go around sticking paper fish on each other and trying not to get caught. Only in France…
I got some great jokes today, but I decided I really can’t post any of them… Oh, well.
I’m off to set up a custom newsletter system for my business, Topsail Consulting.
